Ideas For Your Bachelor/ Bachelorette Party

Your bachelor/ bachelorette party is a great way to celebrate with your nearest and dearest, shortly before taking the leap into married life. If you’re currently looking for things to do for yours, here are a few ideas to get you started.

A Night Out

A night is a popular choice for a bachelor/ bachelorette party. You get to glam up, and with your closest friends and family with you you’re sure to have an incredible time. You could go to a cocktail bar, a club or a restaurant depending on the type of evening you were after. Either way, it’s sure to be a night to remember.

A Party At Home

Rather than a night out, why not consider a party at home instead? You can go as simple or elaborate with it if you like, but it’s good way to keep costs down if you want to spend less as everything can be done on a budget. It also means your guests don’t have to spend much too. The average wedding guest already has to spend a fair amount attending. Think travel, outfits, wedding gifts, drinks at the reception and more- so it’s a good option for them too. Plus it’s handy for you when you have an expensive wedding right around the corner! You could arrange games and activities for people to do which wouldn’t cost much. Decorations can be found in dollar stores and on eBay for next to nothing. If everyone brings a bottle, you could set up a ‘bar’ area so that the drinks are flowing.

A Day Trip or Activity

If you have a bit more to spend or really want to make an occasion out of it, you could arrange a day out. Ladylike activities for your bachelorette, hen or doe party (depending on where in the world you live!) could be anything from a spa day to an elegant afternoon tea. If you’re looking for bachelor, stag or bucks party ideas, there are lots of sporty and exciting activities to consider. Paintballing, go-karting and quad biking to name just a few.

A Holiday or Mini Break

To go all out, arranging boys/ girls only holidays away could be a fun way to celebrate with your respective friendship groups. This could be a particularly good option if you have friends or family members who will be unable to attend the wedding for any reason. This gives you time to spend and celebrate with them beforehand. Check with your guests if this is something they can or want to do before deciding on anything. Financial issues, child care and getting time off work can all be a problem for some people, and so it’s important to find out if it’s a realistic choice.

Important Things To Avoid When Planning A Bachelorette

Bachelorette parties can often be as rowdy as those get-togethers we’d expect from the boys. But there’s nothing necessarily wrong with that! What is wrong, however, is committing one of the following few blunders.

As party planner, it’s your job to make the night memorable, fun and most importantly – embarrassment-free. Right away, I’d advise you to not watch the movie Bridesmaids, and definitely do not plan anything you wouldn’t like yourself.

So, here’s how you can keep your bachelorette party luxurious and fun, while avoiding certain pitfalls!

Don’t embarrass the bride

It’s her big night; so make her feel as comfortable as possible. If you had something in mind, like a stripper, don’t do it. If she ends up feeling too embarrassed, it can dampen the night and it’ll be your fault. Would you like to be in those shoes? Probably not.

Don’t make the guests spend a lot of money

Most people will attend at least one wedding a year, if not more. And that means there could be a few pricey bachelorettes. Everything from travel to clothing to gifts can quickly make those costs stack up.

The thing is, not everyone has the cash to spend, or wants to spend it on a bachelorette. Try and plan your bachelorette to keep costs for the guests as low as possible. If you’re planning a vacation, sites like http://mysocalledchaos.com/2016/03/plan-a-great-hens-vacation.html can offer you advice on this. Remember to keep things fun, and low-cost!

Don’t plan it around alcohol

Alcohol is fine, but this is a night you want to remember – so make sure people can actually remember it! Of course, drinking can be a part of the night, but try to keep things minimal. Getting wasted in a nightclub may seem fun at the time, but it won’t the morning after!

Don’t plan strenuous physical activity

While some physical activity is perfectly fine, don’t go overboard. This is a night for people to relax – not get so shattered that they want to go to bed early. I suppose a game of laser tag would be acceptable, but it all depends on the bride’s personality. Would she enjoy it? I’d recommend keeping things simple, rather than trying to go overboard.

Don’t build the guest list yourself

You may be fond of certain people that the bride absolutely hates, or vice versa. But, this is the bride’s night – so it should be her guest list. Under no circumstances should you invite any guys – a bachelorette is a celebration of female friendships!

If you’re in doubt, just consult the bride. Let her choose who’s on the guest list, so you don’t end up inviting someone who’s unwelcome. If you’re struggling with the guest list, don’t fret! There’s plenty of help on the matter, such as http://classroom.synonym.com/bachelorette.

Don’t argue

Even if you aren’t fond of certain guests in attendance and even if you dislike the bridesmaids dress, keep it to yourself! This night isn’t about you, it’s about the bride, and creating a brilliant send-off to single life. Nobody likes drama at any sort of occasion, and this is no exception.

Wedding Tasks Your Maid Of Honor Can Help You With

Choosing a maid of honor is so important when you start your wedding planning. Make a list of the friends you want as bridesmaids, and then you can decide which one you want to make your maid of honor. Here are some tasks your maid of honor can help you with.

Sorting out your bachelorette

The maid of honor is typically put in charge of sorting out the hen do for the bride-to-be. Therefore, ask them to arrange it for you, so it’s one less thing to worry about. They may have ideas, but they might need some extra help on organizing the bachelorette. Make sure you give them a list of who to invite. Tell them to liaise with your other bridesmaids if they need some extra help. If they don’t want to arrange it all, or you want to sort out your hen do, you could just ask them to sort out some of the activities for you.

Choosing your wedding rings

Choosing your wedding rings can be a nightmare if you are not sure of what style to go for, and your other half is too busy to go with you. Ask your maid of honor to come along so that you can get a second opinion on the rings you like. You can look online to discover brands and find out more about them such as on James Allen reviews. Go to a few shops and try on different choices till you find the right ring for you. Your maid of honor will be able to advise you on what looks best with your engagement ring.

Creating favors

Unless you have plenty of time spare before your big day, you may need help creating the favors for your wedding. You firstly need to decide what favors that you are going to give your guests. A lot of favors people are giving to their guests are handmade because it cuts down the costs. Once you have decided what you want to make, you can ask your maid of honor over and spend time making the favors together. You can get many ideas online of favors that you can create.

Choosing the bridesmaid dresses

As part of being a bridesmaid and maid of honor, they have to wear a special dress for your wedding day. It can be hard to pick a bridesmaid dress that will fit all shapes and sizes, so why don’t you take your maid of honor along with you. They can help advise you on what they think will look best. They can try on the dress, and you can then see what it looks like on them. Once you and the maid of honor have a shortlist of dresses, you can then send pictures to the other bridesmaids, and they can choose the one they all like.

Remember your maid of honor is there to help ensure your wedding goes smoothly as possible. After all, you will be helping them one day when it’s their turn to get hitched!
