Rely on Your Partner

You’ve just tied the knot and you no longer have to deal with life’s struggles alone. By looking at your partner through some of your wedding photos, you can achieve some romantic shots. If you both feel awkward, you may end up laughing when you look at each other which can create some natural and beautiful photographs. If you’re nervous about getting good shots, find a photographer that’s good at getting natural pictures.

The Kiss

A wedding photography session can go on for a long time. If you’re tired of posing and your jaw hurts from smiling, try switching to ‘the kiss’. Kissing your partner is not only an easy photograph to take, it gives you a break from doing the things that feel awkward. You can almost guarantee that a picture of the married couple kissing will make the wedding album. You can’t go wrong with ‘the kiss’. You may want to have some chap stick handy though!

‘Smizing’

It’s a term used by Tyra Banks on America’s Next Top Model. It means, to smile with your eyes. Sometimes smiling can be painful after a while on your wedding day. Use your eyes to show how happy you are and you’re sure to get some glistening pictures for your photo frames.

Look Away

You don’t have to look directly at the camera to get a good shot. Whether you’re posing on your own or with your partner, gazing away can create a wonderful photo. The aim is to look into the future and dream about the life you’re about to start. What do you wish for? What will make you both happy? It’s sure to come across on the picture.

Use Props

Shakespeare had some of his characters where disguises because he knew a mask would create more confidence. You can use props in the same way. Suddenly, the attention isn’t all on you. Whether you choose to use something as simple as your bouquet of flowers or you use something quirky, like oversized sunglasses, they’ll give you the confidence you need to pose. Get some ideas here.

Relax

Sometimes, it’s easier said than done, but relaxing is the key to getting great photographs. Perhaps you could have a glass of champagne to calm your nerves before the session. If you can let go of your insecurities and have fun with your partner, the rest will be easy.

Look to your photographer for guidance during a wedding photo shoot. Photographers have done it many more times than you, so you should get some good advice.
